The Junkyard Dog II features Kershaw's proprietary Composite Blade technology. It combines two blade steels to put a high-performance steel on the cutting edge and a steel known for strength on the spine. The two steels are permanently joined through a metallurgical process called brazing. The knife opens easily with Kershaw's Flipper opening system, and locks into the frame safely.

I bought this knife as my part of my edc, I have had it for almost a year, I have used many diferent knives in my life and i abuse these things, I work for a company that dose underground fiberoptics, in my day to day i use my knife alot, it cuts through kevlar braided mule tape like butter wich its used for often, I HAVE NOT SHARPENED IT YET this is the best knife I have ever used, I am also an avid outdorsman this knife is used and abused,i have used it to make emergency shelters for practice,I have batoned this knife on several camping trips to make fire wood and cut down small trees, this is my favorite knife, I ordered my second junk yard dog to keep as a spare incase Iloose this one

great knife! composite D2 blade accepts a wicked shar edge! The flipper opening mechanism on mine was glass like smooth.(I adjusted mine just alittle). Great Knife, made in USA!
